  • cocos
  • dŵr a halen
  • dyrnaid o flawd ceirch
  • pupur a halen
  • saws gwyn (wedi’i wneud o flaen llaw)
  • caws neu grwst brau

 

Dull

  1. Rhoi’r cocos mewn dŵr a halen dros nos ac ychwanegu’r blawd ceirch atynt.  (Y mae’r blawd ceirch yn helpu i lanhau’r cocos.) 
  2. Drannoeth, berwi’r cocos mewn dŵr glân nes gwelir bod y cregyn wedi agor. 
  3. Yna tynnu’r cocos allan o’u cregyn a’u rhoi mewn dysgl, eu blasu â phupur a halen, a’u gorchuddio â saws gwyn.
  4. Rhoi haen drwchus o gaws wedi’i falu ar wyneb y saws neu orchuddio’r cyfan â haen o grwst brau.
  5. Crasu’r bastai mewn ffwrn boeth nes gwelir bod ei hwyneb wedi cochi.

Holidaying in Freshwater East, I've been trying to find a restaurant offering cockle pie. Unsuccessfully I must add, as it was over 20 years ago! Some restaurants have never heard of this traditional Welsh dish, why? Thanks for the recipe, it seems that I shall have to cook it myself...
