Roman ceramic brick and tile
This is an unusually diamond shaped fragment of CBM.
It has four deliberate smooth edges that give the piece a distinctive diamond shape. The other two sides are roughly broken, indicating this was the middle of a longer piece.
It's most likely a long piece of decorative edging, probably for a window, door, or garden.
The side corners surive, the corner on the wider end has broken away, and the narrow end corner has survived with minimal wear and, as part of the diamond shape, its quite pointed.
It is the middle fragment of a longer piece, the breaks are quite rough and worn. One side has a small void which is probably from where a piece of material within the clay has broken out.
