Roman intaglio (Dioscuri)
Oval intaglio, translucent brown in colour, very slightly convex. The device is one of the Dioscuri - either Castor or Pollux - identified by the star above his head, standing on his horse (shown in profile to the right on the actual stone). Only the front part of the horse is shown. The god/hero holds a spear and is nude apart from the chalmys draped over his right arm.
