S.S. TREVINCE, photograph
Black and white photograph of the S.S. TREVINCE on acceptance trials on 25 April 1907. Signed in pencil by photographer W. Parry. Mounted, framed and glazed
The SS Trevince was the fiftieth vessel completed by John Readhead and Sons of South Shields for the well-known Hain Steamship Co of St Ives, Cornwall. These ships were well-known in Cardiff, and it was the company’s proud boast that there was never a time when the distinctive white ‘H’ funnel mark could not be seen in the Bristol Channel. Completed in 1907, the SS Trevince was sold to Greek owners in 1926, and was wrecked on the Portugese coast in June 1932.
