Taper-holder or sealing wax igniter, tin-plate, cylindrical form wih loop handle and round slightly domed cover with a short nozzle to the centre; the interior covered with a black japan, the exterior covered with a scarlet japan and painted with three groups of flowers in green, white and red, narrow borders in red, white and black around the bottom of the body and the rims of the cover and nozzle.
