Early Medieval human remains
The Inhumation of a Younger Child (4-8 years)
They were buried in a possible Multiple burial with 9 others. This is the only multiple burial of more than two individuals. They were all buried in a single pit with 5 articulated skeletons, 3 disarticulated crania and 1 disarcitulated mandible. It's possible these could have all been family members or individuals who died within quick succession. However, due to the high level of disarticulated material found, it is also possible that these contemporary graves accidentally cut into an area of pre-existing unmarked burials. The cemetery was densely used and reused leading to many truncated and disturbed burials. Individuals within the multiple grave are SK205, SK207, SK208 and SK209, SK210, SK211, SK212, SK213 and SK223
They were buried in an extended supine position oriented West-East
The burial is from Phase H: 772-1019 AD
