Cream boat, soft-paste porcelain, oval shape with straight-sided foot-rim, bulbous sides, shaped lip-rim, wide raised spout, ear-shaped loop handle with raised thumb-spur, the sides of the body, the underside of the spout and the lip-rim and moulded with a raised pattern against which are reserved to either side of the body two lobed panels; delicately painted in underglaze blue with chinoiserie-style designs, to one of the reserved panels to the sides of the body a small chinoiserie-style scene with two stylized Chinese figures in an oriental landscape, to the other panel a spray of oriental flowers and foliage, further sprays of oriental flowers and foliage beneath the spout and to the interior bottom of the jug, smaller sprigs of flowers and foliage to the interior lip-rim, spout and handle.
