Early Medieval pottery vessel
Phocean red slipware. Possibly one of a number of sherds from the same dish, (Hayes for +M637m 3E) West Turkey. (+ see pub + A1 + M328).
Bodysherd, abraded. Max S. 3 cm. T. 4 mm. 1989 C (64).
Fabric A1: Phocean Red Slipware. Soft, wheel-thrown, pink with red slip on both surfaces. Characteristic horizontal very fone grooves on exterior from burnishing. Inclusions abundant tiny yellow limestone fragments.
