Mug, pearlware, inset base within a flattened-off foot-rim, cylindrical sides, square-shouldered loop hand;e, the exterior sides embossed with a raised decoration consisting of to the front of the mug a large rectangular panel with to either side heart and lozenge shaped panels, insects and floral sprigs, the raised areas surrounded by a stippled textured ground; painted in pink lustre with to the rectangular panel a stylized scene showing a cottage surrounded by trees, pink lustre bands above and below the rectangular panel, the embossed heart and lozenge shaped panels, the insects and the floral sprigs overpainted in pink lustre, pink lustre bands around the interior and exterior lip-rim, a pink lustre dash to the handle. The body of the mug cracked around the handle.
