Casgliadau Arlein

Large mug, or tankard, straight sided with a moulded simple loop handle with a moulded leaf thumbpiece. Decorated in managanese purple on-glaze transfer print with two repeats of the 'Carnation pattern' of Oriental flowers and leaves. Broad border around rim of flowers and oriental motifs: large semi circles and curling cartouches on a rice patterned and finely dotted ground. Small version of border around inside rim. Wavy spray on outer side of handle.
