Figure personifying painting, hard-paste porcelain, standing on a rococo base moulded with shell-shapes and scrolls, the figure is of a boy wearing soft hat with up-turned brim, hair gathered at the neck in a ponytail, long flowing coat, knee breeches and shoes, the figure has one arm outstretched on which rests an artist's palette, the other hand holds a paintbrush most of which has broken off, to the shoulders of the figure are marks where possibly wings were once attached which have now broken off; the figure left mainly white with the face and hair picked out in naturalistic enamels and the hat and clothing decorated in gilt and puce and red enamels, the artist's palette painted brown with splashes of colour, the base picked out in puce.
