Egg cup stand, earthenware, standing on a pedestal with spreading foot, the upper section in the form of a flat lobed hexagon curving upwards at the rim, and with six pierced circular holes for eggs; transfer-printed in blue with to the top of the upper section the 'Two Temples' pattern, a large pagoda in the foreground surrounded by oriental trees and with two figures on a bridge over a river to one side of it, in the background further oriental buildings and trees on islands in an expanse of water, border to the interior and exterior lip-rim and foot-rim of stylized moths, Greek key shapes and elaborate scrolls enclosing scale and lattice patterns.
