Swatch of tweed
Swatches of tweed bound inside a rectangular shaped book covered in red imitation leather (coated fabric). The front cover is decorated with a gold printed border, the words 'Grasshopper 17 oz 525 gm.m twist worsteds and an image of a grasshopper' the company stamp (Wessex) There is a code on the binding which reads T313 and the symbol for pure new wool (all in white vinyl lettering) The left sides of the swatches appear to have been embedded in adhesive. On the end of the binding is a hanging loop made from yellow twisted rope.
Each fabric has a square shaped white paper label adhered to the upper right corner, the first one reads 'WESSEX 9960 58/59" (147/150cm wide 17oz yd 525 gm m' the is also the pure new wool symbol at the bottom. The following swatches has consecutive numbers till 9991.
The swatches consist of striped and checked patterns in various colours and have pinked edges on three sides.
