S.S. EMBIRICOS Off Dover (painting)
Cwblhawyd yr Embiricos ym 1893 gan Syr Raylton Dixon o Middlesborough ar gyfer Alcibiades Embiricos, Andros, Gwlad Groeg. Ym 1896, daeth aelod arall o'r teulu, Stamatios, i Gaerdydd, a byddai'n aml yn 'trefnu' i'r Embiricos lwytho cargo yn y porthladd glo ffyniannus hwn. Culfor Dover yw cefndir y llun hwn, fodd bynnag, ac mae'n debygol fod y llong ar ei ffordd i Dunkirk gyda llwyth o rawn o un o borthladdoedd y Môr Du.
Built 1893 by Sir Raylton Dixon & Co., Middlesbrough (triple-expansion engine by J. Dickinson, Sunderland), for Alcibiades Embiricos, Andros. 1901 – Sold to Michael Jebsen of Hamburg, and renamed EMMA. 1904 – Sold to the Imperial Russian Navy, renamed KOLUIMA (or KOLYMA), and converted to an armed transport ship. 1913 – Re-assigned as a depot ship and renamed BLOKSHIP No.6. 1916 – Re-assigned to the Russian Volunteer Fleet Association, Vladivostok, and renamed VITIM. 1923 – Sold to P.M.Nomikos, Piraeus, and renamed PETROS NOMIKOS.
