Casgliadau Arlein

Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'Lend A Bite', showing a rural scene with four standing figures of young people, a seated figure, a monkey in a dress and a dog, one of the standing figures takes a bite from something held in the hands of one of the others, around the bottom of the scene is the inscription "LEND A BITE", the print enclosed by a narrow circular dotted border. The glaze slightly crazed.
