ss MIDDLESEX TRADER (7241gt) : Built 1942 by J.L.Thompson & Sons, Sunderland, for Trader Navigation Co. Ltd., London. WW2 duty was mainly in the Mediterranean 1955 – Sold to Strovili Cia. Nav. SA, Puerto Limon, Costa Rica, and renamed STROVILI. 1956 – Sold to NV Anker Kolen Maatshappij, Rotterdam, and renamed ANKER. 1958 – Sold to Mariscula SpA., of Palermo, Italy and renamed CARNIA (managed by Pala & Franceschini). She was laid up at La Spezia from March 1963, and finally entered the yard of Terrestre Maritima at La Spezia in April 1965 for breaking up.
