Cup and saucer
Tea cup and saucer, handle partly missing and detached, the cup with a flaring foot rim on low pedestal, rounded open body with moulded panels and slightly flaring moulded rim, the saucer with foot ring and slightly flaring rim, moulded in the same form as the cup; both are painted in under and overlgaze polychrome colours with a 'gaudy' style decorative scheme, at the centre of the well are two pagodas framed by two schematic trees in bloom, an area of blue and pale red with dots of purple lustre in front of the buildings might represent a lake, the well is circled with a ring of yellow enamel and another of purple lustre, the well is decorated with eight evenly spaced ribs in thick black enamel with white diapers or flowers, bordered in yellow and purple lustre, between these alternate plants in red, blue and green enamels, and flowers and foliage in iron red and green enamels, the moulding of the rim is picked out in alternate yellow and green enamel with purple lustre fronds, this scheme is repeated on the cup.
