Tyg, dark red earthenware, flat base and high cylindrical sides flaring out at the mouth, around the body eight evenly spaced double loop handles, one of which is partially broken off, in two different forms which alternate with each other, each handle has a moulded mouth or flower head at the join between the two loops, the smaller handles have a conical shell shaped finial to the top of them, the larger finials have a double rounded disk shaped finial, a narrow spout rises internally up one side of the tyg with a mouth to the exterior side above one of the handles, the exterior sides of the body ornamented in the spaces between the handles with roses, thistles, harps and a cruciform device stamped on pads of clay, a number of pronounced concentric throwing rings around the upper body; covered all over apart from the base with a brilliant dark brown lead-manganese glaze.
