0.50 Massimo remembers the day they spent celebrating before doing military service. Six of them went to Sappada together, and that evening they had a party with the girls and danced throughout the night. He remembers on that occasion dancing the waltz, tango and polka while a friend played the accordion. 0:06 Massimo describes a picture of his brother when he was in Pola (Yugoslavia). He was taken prisoner there and put in a concentration camp. Massimo remembers when his brother came back from the camp. He was still young. He remembers sad episodes during the war: houses burnt, partisans killed. He saw a partisan being shot when he was a boy. He was a balilla (member of the fascist youth) as well and he remembers all their marches.
