Roman pottery jar
of the ordinary Roman type with bulging sides and out-curved lips in common black pottery. Of various sizes, some of the smaller having short abrupt lips, and one apparently formed to receive a lid. (On a separate accession card) Upper portion of a JAR of the usual Roman shape; large, thinly built in black pottery and ornamented with horizontal grooves and bands ofincised wavy pattern produced from a toothed instrument.
