Sleeveless short evening dress, about 1924-28. Worn by Mainda Thomas, dressmaker and owner of Malins Gowns of Newport and Barry. Black with silk net with silk crepe lining, decorated overall with black circular and peardrop sequins, with band of beadwork at hip line consisting of floral and leaf motifs worked in clear, grey and black 'jet' beads. V neckline at back and front. Shoulder straps rotted. Scalloped hemline.
