Staffordshire watchstand depicting the story of Gelert. The dog Gelert standing guard over Llywelyn's baby son asleep in a lipwork cradle, with the wolf lying gead on the base; above the cradle is a draped curtain, with a flying cherub and wreath of roses, with circular space to hold watch. Hand painted in green, yellow, blue, pink and brown on white glazed ground.
