Medieval lead pig
With seven impressed stamps of square form depicting in raised outline a shield. The stamps may represent the simplified arms of the Prince of Wales and signify that the lead came from the Flintshire mines. Also bears the scratched lines of a merrell's board: three squares bisected by an outline cross. Originally circular in shape, but part of the ingot has been cut away. Of lenticular cross-section.
