Parasol
Parasol with cream silk cover with brown velvet detail in a floral design, the inside is cream silk, trimmed with a cream silk fringe with brown silk bobbles, the header of this fringe is a patterned braid in cream and brown. The same fringe is used to trim the ferrule. The stick is a piece of pale wood untreated, the ribs are white laqured metal with ivory tips. The handle is carved ivory in a twisted design, the ferrule is plastic and has a screw thread inside, maybe something missing? The hand and top springs are made from brass. There is a hinge halfway down the stick so that the parasol can be angled towards the sun, there is an engraved metal collar which supports the hinge when the stick is straight.
