lovespoon carved by the late Dilwyn George Mears (a self taught woodcarver); consisting of one major centre decorated panel with short stem for ladle, connected by loops to upper, carved caged containing one single wooden ball with upper loop and suspension link; maker's club mark on reverse of centre panel; centre panel decorated in a semi oval design with design of heart in centre flanked above and below with two flower petals; inner section of panel stippled background; upper cage consisting of base and upper loop with four hand carved upper pillars to contain wooden ball; spoon finished with clear sealing wax
