Scrub bag with dot pattern on one side, and butterfly pattern on the other. Tabby-woven polycotton material, printed in pink, purple, light green and light blue. The bag was made by altering what was originally a pillow case. Original stitches use white thread, while the alterations were machine stitched using a turquoise thread. A rough-cut hole was made on the inside of the channel along the upper turn-back to allow for insertion of the corded draw string. The string is pale brown and is tied into a knot at the end.
"A local business Beluah Dress Agency (who has sadly now closed due to Covid) asked if any members of the community would like to help in making scrub bags for NHS workers. This allowed them to put their uniform into a bag at the end of their shift and to put it straight into the washing machine without having to handle possible contaminated clothes. These were made from donated materials and sheets, pillowcases and duvets that people kindly donated. I used cord to allow them to be easily opened and closed and tied tightly during the wash cycle. I loved making these items, it made me feel like I was doing my little bit to help out the community during the lockdown" (Tracey from Cardiff).
