ss OCEAN LIBERTY (7130gt) : North Sands type vessel built 1942 by Todd-Bath Iron S.B. Corp., Portland, Maine, for MoWT, managed by Mitchell, Cotts & Co. 1945 – Managed by Saint Line Ltd. 1946 – Managed by Neil & Pandelis Ltd. 1948 – Sold to Ascot Shipping Co Ltd., London, and renamed AVISMOAT. 1955 – Sold to Romney Steamship Co Ltd., and renamed CLAIRE T. 1958 – Sold to Nigean Shipping Co., Panama, and renamed FREE TRADER. 1959 – Renamed THEODOROS TSAVLIRIS. Same owners, but registered in Greece. 1964 – Sold to Trafalgar Steamship Co., and renamed NEWGROVE. 1966 – Sold to Kantara Shipping Co., Cyprus. She ran aground off Puerto Padre on 14th May 1966 while en route from Liverpool to Cuba, and declared a constructive total loss. She was refloated in January 1967, towed to Antilla, repaired, and put into the service of the Cuban Government. Further history unknown – she was deleted from the 1968/9 Lloyds register.
