BROCAS (This artist could be one of three sons (Samuel, Henry and William Brocas) by Henry Brocas, the celebrated Irish landscape painter. Both father and sons were influential in the development of nineteenth century landscape painting in Ireland, and became important figures in the Irish print trade.)

Trading: alone 1790-1802; as Jukes and Sargent 1809-1811. Born: 1745, Martley, Worcs. Died: 1812, Upper John Street. At first etcher end line engraver, later aquatint engraver, chiefly of topography and marine subjects. Some works executed with Robert Pollard and Valentine Green.
