Red flannel body belt, 1930-60. Worn by R. M. Howells, a blacksmith and farrier, at Old Bridge Forge, Haverfordwest. Worn as back-support whilst shoeing horses and for warmth. Stiffened with panels of unbleached calico. Overstitched with rowch of white machine-sewn lockstitch. Part of lower edges bound with red bias binding. Worn around the body. Fastened with three sraps of cotton webbing and three metal buckles.
