Oil lamp, earthenware, circular dish with a flat covered top that has a hole in the centre circled by raised concentric rings, the dish is raised on a cylindrical stem that has a raised groove round its middle and which rises from a circular spreading base, rectangular handle with a large thumb rest moulded into the shape of an anthiemon, radiating out horizontally from the dish are two spouts that are moulded in the shape of scrolls; the concentric rings around the hole in the centre and the thumb rest on the handle are undecorated, the top of the dish is banded with a border of birds and the underside of the dish is moulded in relief with a flower stem and flower head border against a ground that is painted and glazed black, the foot is decorated with a wave border against a ground that has been painted and glazed black, the underside of the spouts are moulded with anthiemons and the sides and tops of the spouts are moulded in relief with scrolls and flower motifs against a black ground.
