Vase, black basalt, urn-shaped body with spreading foot, bulbous lower body, cylindrical sides and flaring rim, to either side of the lower body twin loop handles, round domed cover with to the top a bud-shaped finial, around the foot-rim, lower body, lip-rim and the sides of the cover acanthus leaf patterns in various sizes, the exterior upper body decorated with applied classical figures and trees, applied foliage to the handles.
