Bottle or flask, earthenware, reduction fired to give dark grey-brown surface, rounded and flattened body with seam-like ridge running along the side and bottom edges, two lug handles at shoulders, tapering spout/neck with flaring lip, strap handle attached from back of neck to the upper/back body; undecorated but with tarry residue from contents covering neck and trickling down body.
