Medieval ceramic floor tile
Lewis Group 21, no. 307. Slip-on impression. Corner tile of the nine-tile design.
The overall 9-tile design consists of: a circle of double lines flanking a frielze of opposed three-leaf motifs; within the circle leaf tracery forming eight compartments containing shields of arms of to designs arranged alternately: a cross patonce between five martlets (Westminster Abbey) and cross keys with sword in pale (Gloucester Abbey) ; in the centre an octagonal motif of linked trfoils; outside the circle each corner has a framed leaf motif.

Nodiadau: The site of a kiln producing floor and roof tiles, north of the Priory Church. The most significant finds consisted of kiln wasters of of tiles belonging to the Malvernian series, roof tiles and a dump of unused clay (Lewis, J, M. 1999. The Medieval Tiles in Wales).
