Wedding dress
Wedding dress (bodice, skirt and belt). Worn by donor's mother who married at Ebenezer Chapel, Barry, in 1896. Green woollen thread and cream silk is woven into the alpaca. Skirt is plain and fully gathered at the back. Bodice is cut with a tailored coatee over plastron fronted bodice. Wide revers and exaggerated puff sleeves at top of long sleeves. The costume is trimmed with cream corded silk and has a separate silk belt over the top of the skirt. Steel bead embroidery was also used.
