Early Medieval human remains
A disturbed burial comprising primarily of an adult female aged 33-45 years in a plain grave oriented west-east. Skeletal elements of several other individuals were identified during repackaging and bagged separately.
Elements present: a few crania fragments including occipital/foramen magnum, mandible, teeth, L and R clavicle, vertebrae, L scapula, sternum, R humerus, L and R femur, L and R tibia, R patella, ?radius head, L and R fibula, carpals/tarsals, L and R calcaneus, L and R talus, metacarpals/metatarsals, phalanges, unidentified fragments.
Intrusion (child): unfused child femur ?proximal, other unfused fragments including head of femur, distal femur epiphysis, some phalanges. Intrusion (adult): adult femora are different in size: L is considerably more robust than R.
Animal bone was also recovered from the grave. Microfauna was identified during repackaging and bagged separately.
