Casgliadau Arlein

Pot-lid, earthenware, circular shape with cylindrical flange and convex top; the upperside of the lid decorated with an underglaze polychrome transfer-print of 'The Shrimpers' (although this title is not recorded on the lid), showing a coastal landscapw with in the foreground the figures of several children shrimping with nets and sticks, in the background houses and boats pulled up on the shore, the print enclosed by a narrow circular dotted border.
