S.S. COULBEG (5237gt). Built 1940 by Lithgows, Port Glasgow, for the Dornoch Shipping Co. (managed by Lambert Bros.) 1951 - Sold to Nile Steamship Co., (Glen & Co.), Glasgow, and renamed JUTLAND. 1952 - Sold to Heron Steamship Co.,(Tsavliris Shipping Co.), London, and renamed MARIANTHE. 1953 - Acquired by Trafalgar Steamship Co., London - she retained her name. 1955 - Sold to Berna Steamship Co. (S.Catsell), London, and renamed BERNA. 1958 - Sold to Tsavliris Maritime Co., Piraeus, and renamed MARIANTHE TSAVLIRIS. 1965 - Renamed FREE MERCHANT, she went through many "owners" from Panama, London and Cyprus. She sank in June 1967, after developing leaks, 700 miles from Colombo while on a voyage from Beirut to Yokohama with a load of scrap iron.
