Teapot and cover
Teapot, hybrid-paste porcelain, standing on a short cylindrical foot-rim, globular body, short cylindrical neck, plain slightly curving spout, plain loop handle with raised thumb-spur, round domed cover with flat collar-like rim, to the centre of the cover a bulb-shaped finial with a pierced steam-hole through it; painted in polychrome enamels with to either side of the exterior body a chinoiserie-style scene showing two figures in a garden setting, one holding a parasol, the other holding a flower in one hand and a kite in the other, a fence in the background and a flowering plant in an urn to one side, border around the shoulder of a loop and dot pattern in red with blue quatrefoils, the same border around the rim of the cover, a puce band around the exterior lip-rim, a small pattern of petals to the top of the spout, a design of stylized leaves to the handle, scattered foliate sprigs and sprays around the sides of the cover, a pattern of puce petals radiating out from the top of the finial.
