Mole's feet
Mole's feet carried in silken bag as a cure for cramps, S. Sussex.
Left and right front feet of mole (bones and nails, with skin and tissue attached). And draw-string bag made from blue silk with dots and stripes of pink silk. Bast-fibre drawstring (3-ply, S-twist) inserted through upper turned-back edge. Drawstring protrudes from hole at side, extends to 13.5cm and both ends are knotted together.
Bag made from single piece of fabric, folded in half and stitched together with handstitched running stitches using black thread (S-twist). The single turn-back at the upper / open edge is c. 1cm wide. The bottom of the bag is stitched in a curve.
The pink stripes are given texture by having the pink yarns cross over three thicker yarns (probably cellulosic).
