SuperTed was the star of the first programme broadcast on S4C, the Welsh language TV channel on 1 November 1982. This soft toy has a detachable furry body suit with Velcro attachment (Accession number: F06.23.02) to cover red SuperTed costume with yellow boots and belt. On the chest is printed a triangular flame symbol, the same symbol is printed on a detachable red cape.

Light brown/tan synthetic fur fabric (Plush / long-pile fabric with knitted understructure), red synthetic suit & yellow synthetic 'boots', red synthetic cape, white tabby-weave cotton piping round edges of cape, red cotton cord to tie cape round neck, black plastic nose, brown & black plastic eyes, silver coloured metal buckle on yellow plastic belt, white and yellow print on chest and on cape.
