Teapot and cover
Teapot, hard-paste porcelain, cylindrical lower body flaring out to a wide bulbous shoulder, short straight fluted spout with foliate moulding around its base, scrolled loop handle, domed cover with a finial modelled in the form of a plum; the teapot decorated in polychrome enamels with to either side of the body a finely painted emblematic scene, one showing the figure of cupid carrying bow and arrows and walking in a grassy landscape, below the scene is the inscription "Disciplinarò" enclosed by a cartouche of puce scrolls, the other showing a red heart caught in a thorny bush with below the inscription "Il Luogo in Felice" again enclosed by a cartouche of puce scrolls, around the shoulder of the teapot and the top of the cover are floral sprigs, gilt bands around the foot-rim, lip-rim and rim of the cover, the spout and handle picked out in gilt and decorated with designs of gilt scrolls, the plum finial painted in purples and green. The cover broken and repaired.
