Two piece costume worn by Miss Mary Jane Phillips for her wedding to Mr W. Harris of Merthyr at Nazareth Chapel, Pontlotyn in 1898.

The bodice has high collar and yoke decorated with gathered chiffon and vertical lines of sequins. Similar lines run down the sleeve. Two 'true lovers knots' decorate the edge of the yoke. Similar bows are sewn down the edge of the fold-over skirt. Two frills of satin are sewn round the hem and up the fold of the skirt at centre front.
