Iron Age / Roman copper alloy beaded torc
Four beads and curved bar of circular cross section which form part of a beaded torc, the beads being threaded onto the bar. The beads are slightly flattened and have a globulkar shape resembling melon beads and traces of gilding survive between the ribs.
Torcs of this kind are known from Scotland and North Western England with parallels for this type of beading being found at Hyndford, Lanarkshire and Lochar Moss, Dumfrieshire (Macgregor, 1976).
