Yede, Takahiro (Takahiro Yede has been described as a ‘new vanguard’ of Japanese metalwork. He is highly celebrated in Japan, where he has received a Grand Prix award from at the 42nd Japan Traditional Arts and Crafts Exhibition (1995), among others. His work has been acquired by the Tokyo National Museum and Japan’s Agency for Cultural Affairs.)
Sculptural piece in nickel silver and bronze set via five pins into a rectangular base of clear acrylic, abstract in form and comprising three large interwoven sections and a fourth, central, smaller 'floating' section soldered into place; the object is formed of strips of nickel silver and bronze, woven together to create a chevron pattern resembling tapestry or basketry.
