Bark mill
Thirteen grinding wheels on an axle; part of oak bark grinding mill.
Axle, circular in cross section at both ends and in the middle with two square section lengths inbetween. One of the square section lengths has 13 toothed discs (same as on 36.152.8) threaded onto it, the other square section portion has a small square collar threaded onto it. There is a cog on the end of the axle with the toothed discs on it but the 'wedges' that should hold the cog in place are missing. The cog is designed to fit over the square seciton lengths of the axle and in use it may have been fixed to the central section of the axle with the large drive cog (36.152.14) fitted on one end to transfer power to the vertical shaft of the grinding mill (36.152.6) [RP; 08/10/2007]
