Shirt
Black long sleeved shirt with South Wales Gay Men's Chorus logo worn by Nick McNeill, Chair of the choir for many years, and a member since they formed in 2008. This was the first shirt used by the South Wales Gay Men’s Chorus when they formed in 2008.
The South Wales Gay Men's Chorus was formed in February 2008, and has members from across south Wales. The forty strong chorus choir sing everything from traditional male voice choir pieces, to show tunes and modern classics.
Black long-sleeved shirt, cotton twill, 8 black plastic button fastening down front (hidden placket). Small, triangular gusset at lower end of side seams. Cuffs have two sets of 3 button holes; they are to be turned up and worn with cuff links; they are adjustable in order to shorten or lenthen the sleeve by 1cm. The proper right centre front edge is bound with a black synthetic ribbon. A similar, but narrower, ribbon is used to trim the inner neck. Upper rear shoulders are reinforced with an additonal layer of fabric. The Chorus' logo is machine embroidered onto the left chest using silver thread. The logo has a circular design which has a diameter of 8cm. The logo reads: South Wales Gay Men's Chorus / Côr Meibion Hoyw De Cymru and in the centre there is a stylised symbol created from a mix of a Welsh dragon and a Treble Clef. On the reverse of the logo are remains of white non-woven fabric which was used to reinforce the embroidery.
