Born in Bangor, but moved to Rhyl as a child. Talks about his childhood in north Wales, living as a Jew in Rhyl during the interwar period, his father’s retail business in Rhyl, the rise of Rhyl’s Jewish population during the Second World War owing to the presence of Jewish evacuees, the establishment of a wartime Jewish community and synagogue in Rhyl, the decline of Rhyl Jewry after the war, his relationship with Wales, thoughts on Israel, relationship with non-Jews and the establishment of the north Wales Jewish network in the early twenty-first century.
