Plate, earthenware, circular shape with inset base, curving sides and spreading rim, a raised edge to the well, eight notches and lobes to the rim; transfer-printed in blue with to the centre of the well the 'Bridge at Locarno' pattern, two cattle in the foreground, besides them a bridge crosses over a river with further cattle and human figures on the bridge, a tower stands beyond the bridge, in the background an Italianate rural landscape of trees, hills and distant buildings, wide border to the rim of interlacing vines, wheat and cherries, surmounted by a narrow border of overlapping circle shapes.
