Built 1940 by Burntisland Shipbuilding Co Ltd., Burntisland, for Brynymor Steamship Co. Ltd., managed by Ambrose, Davies & Matthews Ltd., Swansea. She was heavily damaged by a bomb in May 1941 during a blitz on Hull, but was able to survive four Russian convoys. 1946 – Ownership transferred to Cook Shipping Ltd (a subsidiary of AD&M Ltd – see NOTES). Same name 1949 – Registered with Jersey United Shipping Co. Ltd, St. Helier (who had taken over Cook Shipping Ltd).Still with the same name. 1952 – Transferred to Jersey Transport Ltd. Still with the same name. 1960 – Sold to Transoceanic Shipping Co Ltd., Hong Kong, and renamed OCEANIC GEM. 1962 – Sold to Gladiator Shipping Co Ltd, Hong Kong, and renamed TOSA BAY.
