Roman stone funerary head of Attis
Carved in the round; the facial features are crudely rendered, both the mouth and eyes indicated mainly be linear work. The head is crowned by a Phrygian cap, with curling locks framing the face. Both the sides and back of the head are only roughly worked. The head sits on a square plinth with a central dowel-hole beneath, by which it would have been attached to a masonry tomb as a finial. The back of the block is worn by tread, and the surface is rather pitted.
